Beatwalk is the heartbeat of Columbia City street festivals. A magnet for culture, music, food and fun, Columbia City wouldn’t be the same without it and its creative, energetic and dedicated leader, Tisha Gallow. It’s why I’ve been happy to support it for many years with our King County small office grant funds.

One of my favorite Seattle events to vend at! Always a great selection of music, artists, food and community support. I've participated in at least five Beatwalk events and it’s always a pleasure to work with Tish Gallow and the team, year after year. Looking forward to the next Beatwalk!

I had a wonderful time at Beatwalk 2025! All of the events were excellent. It was wonderful to see the community come together to hear awesome artists, enjoy great music and dance in the street! I met new people and got a chance to catch up with friends that I hadn’t seen in a while. I can’t wait to do it again next year!

Thank you for having me, this was such an incredible experience as a performer. A place where I felt safe to express and to be my most authentic self surrounded by my people! As a black trans woman from Montgomery, that’s something I’ve always hoped for. Thank you Beatwalk, thank you Columbia City. My home away from home!

Beatwalk has always been a great experience for me to share my music and my knowledge of music with the community. It has also helped me connect with other artists and people in the community for future projects and events to keep the culture alive in the city of Seattle.

Beatwalk is a great day full of amazing artists and vendors. I look forward every month to the different genres of music. The community comes together and enjoys the music and fellowship.

Year after year, Beatwalk continues to bring the community together with its mix of live music, support from local shops and restaurants and booths that promote local artists and independent businesses. It’s always a highlight of the summer and such a great time.

My experience at Beatwalk has been powerful. It brings culture to the front and center, creating a place where local artists and neighbors connect through music, food, dance, and shared history. It reminds us that our presence in this city is vibrant, respected, and rooted.

Beatwalk benefits us by helping boost sales on what would otherwise be a slower night. It also helps bring the community out and together.

The Columbia City Beatwalk has become an annual event in my family. It’s become a family reunion of sorts—-the coming together of neighborhoods who believe in the power of community. It's a transformative event that provides a space for fellowship, economic development, and life enrichment through communion.

I've always looked forward to Beatwalk. It's a great time being out in the Columbia City area. I like the music in different bars that normally do not have music. It's great to see different cultures show up to enjoy the day. Thanks Tish for bringing us together.

Beatwalk Summer 2025! Had the pleasure of working with Tish in collaboration with the Royal Esquire Club. Doing the Beatwalk after party was fun and I look forward to the collaboration next Summer!

I always look forward to playing Beatwalk, you know the energy is gonna be right, the audience is hip, and the atmosphere is musical in its essence. It’s never ceases to amaze me how the event keeps evolving and growing surprising us with serendipity and whimsical spirit.

I’ve been featured as a keyboard player at Beatwalk a couple of times and loved it. It was an easy set up, and the event was well organized with a great crowd. I’ve also been to Beatwalk several times with friends. These events are great to bring friends and family to. A great way to bring Columbia City to life!

Beatwalk is a wonderful, engaging experience for the community. Filled with music, art, and love, it reunites a community that once was and brings together the community that now is. Thank you, Tish, for your continued commitment and contribution!

My experience at Beatwalk has always been of joy, watching and experiencing generational joy. I'm an elder now, but I remember the days of my youth being present in the energy at Beatwalk. It's community-centered by love and dedication of what was and what's to come.

Beatwalk is an awesome community event that has helped keep Columbia City the cool neighborhood. The live music of various genres is filled with amazing local artists. I look forward to it every year.

Tisha Gallow is a Northwest treasure. She tirelessly organizes and curates great artistic and musical experiences for the community. And on top of that, she’s good people! I wholeheartedly support any events projects that she’s putting on and have performed many times for her.

I’ve performed at Beatwalk several times over the years, both on my own and with Sistas Rock the Arts. Every time has been such a lively, joy-filled experience, and I’m so thankful to have been part of it!

Beatwalk makes me feel included. It makes me feel like I’m a part of something. Community. Belonging. Security.

Beatwalk is always a good time. The community comes out just to hang out, hear good music, meet the vendors or store owners and usually end up dancing. When I post live videos or pictures, people usually respond with ‘where are you at’ and then immediately show up to enjoy the fun.
